EXPERIMENTING WITH WORK-LIFE AND LIFE-WORK
For the founders and their Cofluence venture, the 'Xperiment' of X360 has been live since 2009. And it goes back yet further, linked with experiences from the global events of the 80s & 90s (Live Aid, Sport Aid 86+88, the Foundation for Global Broadcasting & NetAid) as well as roles with the LA entertainment industry environmental initiative Earth Communication Office and various social justice initiatives.
For Allison Hornery and John Wells, this has been a long, well-travelled road combining the strategic core of their work with leading public service organisations and governments, with their periodic immersion in pop-culture powered projects - always with a focus on the common good. They are indeed 'patient convenors'.

CURATING & CONVENING FOR IMPACT
Starting in 2017, while continuing our 'Xperimentation', we have been holding discussions with a diverse group of organisations and ‘independents’ to help shape the open X360 initiative:
• Social challenge custodians
• Innovation facilitators
• Digital developers and network providers
• Communications and engagement specialists
• Community organisers and civic changemakers
• Social entrepreneurs and
• Civic managers and city influentials.
Our focus during this time has been on refining the new ways of connecting up good thinking with right action; Across many sectors it seems true that new and different things become more possible when someone - not necessarily a positional leader - convenes the right people, in the rights spaces, to have the right conversations. Change becomes a shared option and becomes possible.

FROM A YEAR OF CRISIS TO A YEAR OF IDEAS…
Initially, from mid-2019 we looked to launch in 2020. And Covid-19 happened. Activated by the worldwide disruption we realigned X360 to be publicly launched as part of a rolling program of participatory enquiry and energised initiatives designed to better enable individuals and institutions to collectively respond.
In this 2020 context, the future of X360 is inextricably intertwined with the strategic development and direction of many organisations and thought leaders, with changemakers and creatives, with the public sector and civil society initiatives.
We will be growing our international founding Advisory Circle as well as strategic alliances with collaborating partner organisations. Stay tuned.
BEYOND 2020
The future of this open, participatory project will be completely in the hands of each of us, the participants.

It may be that beyond 2020 we see the emergence of a kind of ‘living lab’ for cross-discipline dialogue and co-innovation that enables social leaders to meet in new pop-up ways to exchange diverse perspectives and experiences that lead to new models and mindsets. Or we may realise some other initiative. Or together we may decide that we have run our course and take what we’ve learned back into each of our worlds.
