Orchestrating and architecting

In the foundational period of the X360 project the founders – John Wells & Allison Hornery – will play a concierge role, connecting advisors, partners, collaborators into new experimental & experiential themed platforms as a lived, real-world way to apply new ideas to old intractable challenges.

In the near future we hope that other experienced and like-minded professionals will have joined with us to enable a broader program: a ‘social studio’ convening and orchestrating an informal, open community so that individual projects and initiatives may benefit from new energy and insight through other like-ethos adjacent initiative

New life forms

We think of this as the ecosystem effect and X360 as a live ‘lab of labs’.

  • Spaces of all kinds where people can come together
  • Processes for collaboratively working, creating, designing, solving social challenges
  • Intersecting networks of professionals, creatives, explorers, changemakers from all spheres and sectors
  • A convening team to hold it together

Of course, none of this is easy or comes ready-made. In a way we’re a “lab for labs”, exploring forms of multi-sector, multi-jurisdiction and multi-modal governance and impact evaluation. Within the interactions between the institutional custodians and the independent changemakers we’re cultivating new agile operational principles and practices.

It’s risky. It’s exciting. And it’s the edge, where sustained innovative energy tends to live.

Governance & management

  • We strive to find new ways that independents can collaborate creatively without compromising good practice while liberating individuals from unnecessary constraints.
  • New Life Forms for collaboration across diverse agendas, structures, experience, cultures.

Communication & culture

  • Fostering interaction that is more responsive, meaningful, mutually effective
  • Values may be identified within governance but they are spread and shared through comms and cultural exchange

Projects & practice

  • Beyond think-tank, all X360 activity (including forums and knowledge sharing) is aimed towards do-tank initiatives that bring innovative and experimental methodologies into real-world scenarios.
  • At the core is new initiatives framed by a human-centred approach and contemporary innovation principles and practices
  • Networked projects / initiatives

Co-design. Co-development. Co-creation.

Also, consider joining in our 2020 x360 dialogue sessions.

Some tangible outcomes from the 2020 X360 co-design lab include:

  • Mapping experience and skills across the committed group members that we’re willing to exchange & contribute
  • Shared policy positions: a consensus platform of ideas & concepts that we can jointly publish
  • Leveraging existing or re-emerging major linkups & events to prototype how this group can have shared impact
  • Platforms & tools (if required) that enable ongoing collaboration
  • Models for governance & rules of engagement
  • A roadmap for shared activity
