Those of us at the coalface of public-purpose work often don’t have the time to also keep pace with diverse new thinking, let alone engage with multi-disciplinary approaches. CollectiveX will be where people can interact with like-minds around abstract or applied concepts.

We create (& hold) spaces and invite institutions in to work on challenges, find the best ideas to pursue, build things together, gain new insights, make shift happen etc
Studios are a place for enquiry, prototyping, critique, making and remaking, and ongoing reflection.

CollectiveX is a framed enquiry process, conducted as a virtual knowledge circle of experts, commentators and practitioners on a theme or hypothesis.
It’s a space that enables a collision of ideas and experiences, where we explore exploring complex topics that underpin societal challenges and opportunities
These explorations are conducted in an interdisciplinary “applied science” mode where academic or intellectual views are balanced by the experience of real-world practitioners.

The 3 phases of CollectiveX

Divergent: EXPLORE

  • Knowledge sharing by the participants
  • New insights through colliding disparate perspectives
  • Using social knowledge tools and methods to capture

Mode pause: CURATE

  • Produce a living, accessible “state of” report that affirms and/or challenges current thinking
  • Enables a focused process of deeper synthesis

Convergent: AMPLIFY

  • Release this into the world to be discussed in other events and forums
  • (and potentially trigger a new flow-on CollectiveX to dig deeper into an issue)

During 2020 we will be hosting a series on informal dialogues within the new STREAMS now available on the X360 IdeaSpace app.

FRAME

  • Start with a lead question
  • Break into a series of questions that frame the discussion
  • What is the boundary of the exploration?

DEBATE

  • Start with these questions (which may not be answerable!)
  • Hindsight, insight, foresight
  • What knowledge can be mobilised to provide insights for where we are now and what to do next
  • Triangulate our current position through knowledge exchange

  • Reach a communicable point of consensus
