A virtual social lab for dialogue and discovery

The team behind the new X360.co initiative share a profound belief that if you can get the right people together in the right space to have the right kind of conversation anything becomes possible. So amid the plethora of social innovation labs we are co-founding an open, participatory, collaborative lab-style online platform… the IdeaSpace[X360].

X360 is a living experiment – a type of social lab – about how to bridge good policy, public narrative, strategic high-end thinking with practical, do-able projects that are human scale and can be budgeted, managed and delivered.

We all know the world is changing faster than most of us can keep pace with. So how can we juggle our own immediate priorities while also collaborating with partners, stakeholders, end-users and influencers to manage co-innovation initiatives?

Well, an open collaboratory of experienced movers and shapers is developing one approach we call… X360

Part of shaping the New.

This network of collaborators is exploring how best to meet existing public needs and priorities while also optimising the potential for opening up new social and economic value. So far, we include:

Zoom in. Zoom out.

As a key strategic focus we aim to more closely connect the corridors of influence with the local realities of the street; the world view with the ground view. Nice idea, but this only has value in the context of real-world projects with something at stake.

Collaborative approaches can also provide new spaces to experiment with interaction, to bypass old modes of relationship and build new lines of open communication across agencies, sectors and leadership models.

So CollaborativeX is an open, participatory virtual network where we bring practical projects into a ‘living lab’ style of program to be exposed to leading edge thinking and experience around applied co-innovation while also being subject to the rigours of institutional frameworks. Not at all ambitious!
